How Katanas are made!

Katanas are made by master craftsman with the skill and precision of an archer. Yamada Nagasama is one of the worlds greatest katana craftsman.Yamada Nagasama is a roll model to me because he takes a lot of pride in his line of work.
So, I start to take a closer look at this new sword from the Hanwei Forge. I must say I am really excited about this new katana. It looks  really great and the O-choji hamon is really attractive in my opinion.

At last this samurai sword is coming in a well packed wooden box.The Hanwei Factory in Dalian is damaged due to a big fire on March 6. The damage destroyed buildings, equipment and fortunately, no humans were involved. This causes a major effect on the product supply and this can effect the product delivery now in Europe. The general expectation in  production level is backed up until January.http://forum.sword-buyers-guide.com is where I found the picture.Women's Tongues are as sharp as two-edged Swords, and wound as much, when they are angered”.

Throughout history our ancestors have manufactured bladed weapons that started as simple daggers and developed into longer bladed weapons that eventually became the modern day sword.
Historical Swords started being manufactured during the Bronze Age from a combination of metals including tin, copper and bronze with the oldest recovered sword dating back to 3,000 B.C. in Europe.

These Historical Swords were kept short because the metal used for the construction was easily bent during battle. It was not until the Iron Age and a change in the type of metal being used during the forging that the swords didn't bend. There is still a lot of different metals used to make katanas to day. The metals used to make  katanas are infused with different metals. They use a really awesome metal called spring steel it pops back in to shape after being bent out of shape.
